An applicant must perform the following:
- two arias, one by a Russian composer
- one romance or folk-song

Examination requirements - Solo Singing:
I. Performing a solo programme:
- Classical aria of the 17-18 centuries
- Aria by a western composer of the 19 century
- Aria by a Russian composer of the 19 – beginning of the 20 century
- Aria by a modern composer
- Romance by a western composer
- Romance by a Russian composer
- Folk song
Duration of the programme: 20-25 minutes
II. Interview with faculty from the department on the topic of their critical essay
III. Russian Language test
Examination requirements - Chamber Singing:
I. Performing a solo programme:
- Full-scale classical aria of the 17-18 centuries
- Folk song
- Two romances in different styles by Russian composers of the 19 century
- Romance by a modern composer
- Romance by a romantic composer
- Romance by a western composer (the end of the 20 century)
Duration of the programme: 20-25 minutes
II. Interview with faculty from the department on the topic of the critical essay
III. Russian Language test
