Doctorate & Post Graduate Course Programmes

APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1. Review the requirements for Doctorate programme and Post graduate programme.

Step 2. Complete and submit the Application form and send a copy of your passport to the International Student Office in advance of the deadlines via e-mail: foreigndep@conservatory.ru or fax: +7 (812) 571-82-88.

Step 3. Submit a copy of the Diploma of special higher education/ Master’s degree/ Licentiate Degree with transcript.
For prospective students from Hague Convention countries – apostille of the diploma is required.

Hague Apostille Convention countries:
Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, United States, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Malta, Venezuela.(Full list of the states – members of the Hague Apostille Convention can be found at www.hcch.e-vision.nl)

For prospective students from non Hague Apostille Convention countries – full legalization of the diplomas is required. The diploma must be translated into Russian, legalized in your country and the documents must be verified in the Russian Consulate.

Please note that upon arrival you will be asked to have credential evaluation of your diploma.

Step 4. Review the Dates of examinations.

Step 5. If you need an original copy of the invitation, pay the delivery from the Conservatory to your address at the nearest DHL office in your home country. The address of the Conservatory:

Step 6. After receiving the invitation, apply to the Russian Consulate in your home country for the visa.

Step 7. When you obtain the visa, send a copy of it to the International Student Department.

Step 8. Confirm the date of your arrival to St. Petersburg and make arrangements for accommodation. See Student residence section of the site.

Step 9. Make sure that you have 14 photos (3 cm x 4cm) (3 of them black/white and mat).

Step 10. Obtain medical certificates of vaccination against diphtheria, measles, mumps, tuberculosis, malaria (the latter for students from Latin America only), medical certificates of chest X-ray and AIDS-test results, and that informing of chronic ailments, if you have any.

Please note that all foreign students must obtain medical insurance. Students from European countries and the USA can present their own medical insurance valid in Russia.

- Critical essay on the major approx. 20 pages.
- Health certificate and Medical certificates of vaccination, X-ray and AIDS-test results
- 14 Photos (3 cm x 4 cm) (3 of them black/white and mat)

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

Applicants are recommended to inform International Student Office about their wish to enter the programme and order an invitation from the conservatory no later than in September.
Deadline for applications for the Doctorate course and Post graduate course is September 30, 2010. (Receipt of all applications and supporting materials (copies) for the admission via e-mail, fax, or post).
A day before examinations (November 24, 2010) applicants must present their documents and applications to the Doctorate programme and Post graduate programmes in person.

DATES OF EXAMINATIONS

November 25 – November 30, 2010.

ARRIVAL DATES

Applicants must arrive on November 21-24. This requirement is connected with the rules of registration procedure for foreign citizens.
Please keep in mind that students can enter Russia on the grounds of the invitation from the conservatory no later than 15 days before their visa expires.
