ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2009/2010

The academic year lasts ten months (from September to the 30th of June) and consists of two semesters starting in September (for the first year students on September 15) and on February 09. The academic year consists of 40 weeks of full-time principal study. Vacation periods are scheduled in winter (late January to beginning of February) and in summer (beginning of July to late August).

20 September 2009 – All payments for the Fall semester must be received by the Conservatorу
28 December 2009 – 03 January 2010– Testing session
04 January 2010 – Last day of group classes
05 January – 25 January 2010 – Exanimations (Winter session)
25 January 2010 – Last day of individual classes

26 January – 09 February 2010 – Winter holiday break

10 February 2010 – First day of classes (Spring semester)
28 February 2010 – All payments for the Spring semester must be received by the Conservatory
01 June – 05 June 2010 – Testing session
04 June 2010 – Last day of group classes
06 June – 03 July 2010 – Examinations (Spring session)
26 June 2010 – Last day of individual classes
30 June 2010 – End of the Academic year

DOCTORATE & POST GRADUATE COURSE PARTICIPANTS

30 September 2009 – Receipt of all applications and supporting materials for Admission
25 – 30 November 2009 – Examinations at St. Petersburg Conservatory
01 December 2009 – First day of classes
21 December 2009 – All payments for the fist semester must be received by the Conservatory
15 May 2010 - All payments for the second semester must be received by the Conservatory
30 June 2010 – Last day of classes
10 June – 25 June 2010 – Examinations
30 June 2010 – End of the Academic year

SPECIAL TRAINING COURSE PARTICIPANTS

01 September 2009 – Commencement of the academic year
30 June 2010 – End of the Academic year
Recommended start dates for Special Training Non-degree Extension Course in 2009/2010 academic year:
2009: 03 September, 01 October, 02 November
2010: 09 February, 01 March, 01 April

Arrival for audition is recommended one-two days before the audition date.
Students starting classes in September must arrive no earlier than on the 1of September.

Conservatory is closed on the following dates:

04 November 2009 – Consent and Reconciliation Day (no classes)
31 December 2009 – 01 January 2010 – New Year Celebrations
07 January 2010 – Christmas celebrations (Conservatory is closed)
23 February 2010 – Fatherland Defender’s Day (no classes)
08 March 2010 – International Women’s Day (no classes)
01 May 2010 – Spring & Work Day (no classes)
09 May 2010 – Victory Day (no classes)
12 June 2010 – Day of Russia (no classes)
International Student Office is closed on these dates and from 29 December, 2009 to 09 January, 2010.
